There’s only 159 pages, so nothing spectacular could happen. The title and cover were interesting so I shrugged and said “Eh, why not?” To be one-hundred percent honest, I picked this up purely by accident because I was looking for a shorter book to help me catch up to my reading challenge for the year (12 books-gotta start slow and set realistic goals). I’m not going to lie I’ve never read any Edgar Allan Poe so I wasn’t intrigued when I saw that this was a retelling of The Fall of the House of Usher.
